CONQUER YOUR MIND photo

Conquer Your Mind

Spaces: 8

Working on your mindset is just as important as working on your physical climbing skills. Our mind is our worst enemy when it comes to uncomfortable climbing situations and can get in the way of achieving our goals. Join this workshop if you want to discover some of the key tools that can help you manage fear on the wall, deal with stressful situations or when fear arises, learn to recognise when you are out of your depth, learn how to predict a potential fall and catch a falling climber, and much more!

This course is aimed for trad climbers who are: Afraid of falling, Experience panic on the wall, Don't dare to climb past the previous placement without feeling anxious, Freeze in one place due to fear of the unknown, Say take or climb down instead of committing to the next move and potentially falling, Not sure how to safely belay for trad climbing without feeling stressed or worried

During this workshop you will alternate theory with practice. You will get exercises to do both on the wall and on the ground. Together with your peers and mindset coach you will work with reflections to get past your mental fears and blocks. Your mindset coach will safely guide you throughout the journey and will give you full support as you get to know yourself, your partner, build confidence in your gear and placements and get comfortable with judging different situations on the wall and start challenging yourself.

Experience Requirements: you must have previous trad climbing experience, be able to comfortably place trad gear, leading up to VS and seconding up to HVS.

Gear Requirements: you must have your own climbing shoes, harness, helmet, belay plate and sling. But feel free to bring all the climbing gear you own!

Have you perfected your top roping skills and are now ready for the next challenge? This workshop is for those who are eager to take the first step towards leading their first trad routes. Your fully qualified instructors will teach you the basics of trad lead climbing. You will look at assessing and selecting gear placements, identifying safe anchors, rope and stance management.
