OUR MISSION

FOR WOMEN

We want to empower women to become more independent, courageous and mindful climbers. We strive to provide a safe space where women can learn and grow through the means of various workshops, a day out with a new climbing partner or maybe just an insightful conversation with a friend.

We want to introduce women of all shapes, backgrounds and abilities to each other, so that they connect and network, plan exciting future adventures together or simply have someone to share a laugh with. We hope to create a community of strong, like-minded women to encourage and inspire.

FOR THE PLANET

We encourage our festival participants to strongly consider putting nature first in order to minimise the impact of the Women's Rock Festival - for the Burren and the planet as a whole.

Below are the 9 steps we have taken as an organisation to run the festival as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. There are also some tips for you to keep in mind.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEPS

1. ADVERTISEMENT

We have chosen to use digital advertisement, promotions and tickets only. No posters, flyers or paper. What. So. Ever.

2. FOOD

All food served at the festival is vegan or vegetarian with local products being used where possible.

3. WATER

We encourage all of our festival go-ers to bring their personal refillable water containers. Refillable water is available at the festival venue.

4. WASTE & RECYCLING

Clearly visible and accessible recycling bins will be provided for all types of waste. There will be a team clean up on Sunday, but hopefully we won't find anything, right?!

5. TRANSPORT

We have encouraged carpooling via our Facebook forum for participants and instructors. Additionally, information on how to get to the festival by public transport has been clearly detailed here.

6. LOCAL EMPLOYMENT

Where possible, we have employed local companies and private operators to help us make this festival happen such as our chef, bus transport and accommodation.

7. FOOD PACKAGING

We have ensured minimal and recyclable food packaging where possible.

8. ECO PRODUCTS

We have also managed to source a lot of eco-friendly products such as our stickers and t-shirts.
